MLB Rumors and Updates

Rumors to watch in MLB today:

  • St. Louis Cardinals:
    • There's a rumor that Young pitcher Gordon Graceffo (24) is transitioning from a minor league starter to a major league bullpen member for tonight's game
    • To make space for the young player, Steven Matz is going on the injured list (longer-term injury).
    • Graceffo has been doing  well in the minors with an ERA of 3.84 (Earned Run Average, a lower number is better for pitchers).
  • Philadelphia Phillies:
    • Another MLB rumor is that there are injury problems for two key players:
      • Bryce Harper who is the star player hurt his left hamstring during the last play of yesterday's game. They are not aware about the intensity of the injury.
      • Kyle Schwarber (leadoff hitter) left the game because his left groin feels tight.
    • The Phillies will hopefully  give an update on their health later today.
  • San Francisco Giants:
    •  A Great news for the Giants! is that LaMonte Wade Jr. (first baseman) is coming back from injury tonight to play against the Dodgers. He's been out since late May with a hurt in his hamstring.
    • The Giants haven't been doing well while he's been out (they won 11 games and lost 16).
    • LaMonte started the season strong with a high batting average (.333) and good hitting statistics.
    • The Giants will make some roster changes to fit him back in, and he's expected to help their batting against right-handed pitchers.
